Also known as “Buna” or “Buna-N” rubber. For use in applications requiring a rubber sheet or gasket with high resistance to petroleum based fluids.

ADVANTAGES 

Very good resistance to oil and gasoline; superior resistance to petroleum-based hydraulic fluids; wide range of service temperatures; good resistance to hydrocarbon solvents; very good resistance to alkalis and acids. 

LIMITATIONS 

Inferior resistance to ozone, sunlight and natural aging; poor resistance to oxygenated solvents. 

APPLICATIONS 

Where oil resistance is the main concern (machinery gaskets, around oil and gas handling equipment, heat and oil resistant belting).
